Laura is mom to two girls and a Montessori educator with a M.Ed. in developmental psychology & education.

Her studies in child development combined with her experience as a Montessori educator have shaped her understanding of how children learn and thrive: through hands-on self-discovery, and with the support of nurturing and thoughtful caregivers.

When it came to managing behavior in her classroom though, she noticed a real gap between theory and practice.

Becoming a graduate and then a faculty member of The Early Years Child Behavior Certification Program has filled that gap in her knowledge and she continues to grow through her ongoing work with families and schools. As a Child Behavior Specialist, Laura works to empower each parent and teacher with practical tools and customized solutions for more peaceful interactions with their children. Additionally, her passion for creating communities has led her to develop The Early Years weekly โ€œwatercoolerโ€ professional development sessions.

Working together, we will seek answers and support one another in knowing there is no one-size-fits-all solution or magic wand to โ€œmake children behaveโ€. And when we shift the question from โ€œHow do I get my child to _____ ?โ€ to โ€œHow can I help my child make better decisions?โ€ we are able to influence and empower them instead of control and manipulate them.
