Working Together For Our Children
~ Sharyn Timerman~
Have you ever felt you’re not being the parent you’d hoped to be? I know I have. While I love my tribe of three littles, boy, parenting can be hard! If you want to be a mindful, confident and impactful parent, you’re in the right place. Sharyn’s expert guidance will take you step-by-step towards less stressed parenting and a deeper, more meaningful relationship with your children.
As a behavioural pediatrician, I strive daily to help children reach their full potential, and parents, to find joy and confidence as caregivers. Despite my medical training and years as a parent, I still felt something was missing from my professional repertoire and parenting journey. Completing the Child Behavioural Certification Program has been life changing. Under Sharyn’s tutelage, I have learned to be less reactive and a more present, confident parent. It’s with great excitement that I’m also able to share these exciting tools with the families under my pediatric care.
If you find yourself wondering what’s stopping you from being the parent you dreamed to be or what life could be like if you were more confident in parenting, look no further. I can’t recommend Sharyn and her team of consultants enough when it comes to realizing your parenting aspirations.

About Marnie
Hi everyone! My name is Marnie Dideles and currently I am an assistant director at a private daycare in Montreal. I’ve been a qualified Early Childhood Educator for almost 20 years and I have worked extensively in various settings with children from ages 6mos to 5years old. I have grown deeply passionate about the field of early childhood and believe that early childhood educators are truly essential most especially in the world’s changing climate. This led me to teach the ECE program at a private college for 4 years where I was able to teach and train potential educators about the importance of developmentally appropriate practices, relationship building and high quality childcare. In 2012 I became a mother to a wonderful boy named Hendrix and I saw children and childcare through a different lens. It humbled me in the way that regardless of how much knowledge I had accumulated over the years, every child is truly unique and a parents’ role in the child’s life is so integral to that child’s success. This is where The Early Years presented itself and I am now a certified Child Behavior specialist. I am so excited to have the opportunity to empower parents with insight about their children and tools they can use to parent with more grace and patience for themselves and for their children. Parenting isn’t easy but I’m here to journey with you through the ups and the downs until you say that you’ll be ok. And it always will be.

Hello,
My name is Shira Levitt. I am the mother of 2 beautifully rambunctious toddlers. My husband and I were being challenged by our daughter’s behavior and by adding the positive parenting tools given to us we were able to parent with confidence. By helping build strong and encouraging parent/child relationships, we are able to support one another in order to strive for greatness.
I am a clinical social worker with experience working in both Youth Protection and School settings. My work mainly focuses on supporting youth and adolescents to cope with different stressors, including but not limited to peer pressure, anxiety, depression, rebellion, etc. This very inspiring journey has sparked my interest to work towards strengthening the emotional intelligence of our younger children. By doing this we will raise confident and independent thinkers that will become well-adjusted adults for our future. I am also certified as a child behavior consultant, graduating with excellence, in the Early Years Child Behavior Certification Program. My goal is to coach parents to take their challenging parenting moments and turn them into teachable ones. By encouraging firm and fair rules we can motivate and inspire our children to make good, safe and positive decisions.
Children are a gift and privilege that certainly come with challenges along the way. I take great pride and honor in being able to authentically help navigate and empower your family through the challenges of parenthood. By connecting to our children emotionally and empathizing with them we are able to show them that we are on the same team. I will help you lead and guide your children without punishment or shame in order to keep their dignity intact. Let us learn to embrace the rainbow of emotions that flow through our lives. About Lindsay
Lindsay is a certified child sleep consultant and behavioural specialist who works with babies and children of all ages.
At the time her twins (now 6 years old) were born, her husband traveled worldwide for work and she was often alone with two babies for weeks at a time. Several years and hundreds of clients later, Lindsay knew that the obvious next step was to become certified with The Early Years. She already used Sharyn’s teachings every day in her work, and she knew that furthering her knowledge of these methods would mean helping more families find harmony at home.

Luanne Rae
Brandon, MB
About Luanne
Hi, I’m Luanne! As long as I can remember, I have been a passionate advocate for children and
family health and have always had a natural ability to relate to children. While working as a child
and family therapist and navigating my own parenting journey as a mom with ADHD, I realized
there is a pressing need for effective tools and strategies for parents to raise healthy and resilient
children. This led me to finding Sharyn and her amazing program and getting certified as a Child
Behaviour Specialist.
I also have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychiatric Nursing, I’m a certified therapeutic play
practitioner, I have taken endless continuing educations, worked in the mental health field for over a
decade, and I’m a hippy at heart! I believe in the radical principle that children are human beings,
deserving of respect and compassion. I believe in the power of slowing down the chaos and coping
creatively and intuitively. And this is the approach I take in my personal and profession life.
For parents like us who hear the call of “fair, natural, simple,” there is a tremendous body of research
that supports what our intuition is whispering to us. It is however easy to lose our way in the chaos of
life, in the noise of unmet needs and mainstream advice. My hope is to support frustrated and
exhausted parents by offering another way. With insight, tools, and strategies I will take you on a
journey into self-discovery, healing and breaking old bad habits to first heal for yourself and then for
your children.
If you think about the words you would like to use to describe your children 10 years from now, what
would you say? Kind, empathetic, happy, helpful, confident, resilient, capable? Together we can work
towards these amazing characteristics as we look at your long-term parenting goals. We will find
workable ways to be fair firm parents and cultivate amazing little humans. This is not just child behavior
consulting but healing work.
So, let’s heal, lets learn, and practice together. To the brave souls who are ready to shift into feeling at
peace and connected with your children, pour yourself some tea, take a breath, and let’s begin!
“While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.”

Kristina Velan
Montreal, QC
About Kristina
Kristina is a certified child behaviour specialist through the Early Years’ Child Behaviour Certification Program. Her goal is to help your family through the challenging parts of growing up, from teasing to tantrums. Parenting is one of the hardest jobs in the world and, while there are many resources, there’s no official training manual that’s specific to your child. Every child is unique and every parent deserves access to positive parenting tools, which foster understanding, confidence and collaboration. Kristina will give you these tools, explain how to apply them in the areas you’re concerned about and provide scripts of what to say in specific scenarios. It’s never too late to improve our parenting style – today is better than tomorrow, and even small changes can have transformational effects!
Kristina Amerikaner
Maplewood, NJ
About Kristina
My journey to becoming a child behavior specialist first took root in my work as a pediatric sleep consultant, which I’ve had the honor of doing for the past four years. Making connections with so many families through that work, I’d come to realize that while much help and support is given to parents of babies, often parents of “older” children fall by the wayside. This doesn’t seem right when in actuality parenting gets so much harder the more these little people grow and develop. My goal is to try help fill that gap with families, offering parents better ways to connect with their children and make their lives just a little bit easier and more filled with joy.

Christine Brown
Nashua, NH
About Christine
Christine’s journey to becoming a child behavior specialist started in early 2015 when her infant twin boys didn’t fall into the “unicorn baby” sleep category. A passion for sleep and helping families was born. This propelled her to achieve a child sleep consultant certification from the Family Sleep Institute. During the training, Christine was fascinated by Sharyn’s class on child development and positive parenting. When Sharyn offered the child behavior specialist training program, Christine knew that adding parent coaching to her thriving sleep coaching practice was a natural fit and she was excited at the benefits it would bring to her own family too.
Christine’s mission is to educate, support and coach families in their parenting journey so everyone can be happy, healthy & well rested. Parenting in our modern society has unique challenges. More than ever, we understand the importance of raising resilient, independent, and well-adjusted children, but sometimes we are left wondering “how?” Parenting is hard, but when families have the right tools and guidance to teach their children positive discipline skills, parenting can be a lot less stressful and a lot more fun! Through private consultations and workshops, Christine wants to give parents the tools they need to be empowered and confident to parent more effectively.

Hi! My name is Mary, and I am a practicing clinical pharmacist by profession. I became interested in child development and behavior after having my second son. As a mother of two spirited, independent, energetic young boys, I set on a quest to learn positive parenting practices that foster connection and inspiration. I researched many parenting philosophies and programs but knew I had found the perfect fit after speaking with Sharyn and learning about all the wonderful positive parenting principles she and her team teach. I became a Child Behavior Specialist with the intent of not only gaining confidence and parenting tools for my family, but to help other families in need of parenting support. As a pharmacist, helping others and being an advocate for my patients has always been a top priority. As a child behavior specialist, I am now able to extend this passion to help families needing assistance with different ages and stages of behavior and development. Laura Newman
Montclair, NJ
About Laura
Laura is mom to two girls and a Montessori educator with a M.Ed. in developmental psychology & education.
Her studies in child development combined with her experience as a Montessori educator have shaped her understanding of how children learn and thrive: through hands-on self-discovery, and with the support of nurturing and thoughtful caregivers.
When it came to managing behavior in her classroom though, she noticed a real gap between theory and practice.
Becoming a graduate and then a faculty member of The Early Years Child Behavior Certification Program has filled that gap in her knowledge and she continues to grow through her ongoing work with families and schools. As a Child Behavior Specialist, Laura works to empower each parent and teacher with practical tools and customized solutions for more peaceful interactions with their children. Additionally, her passion for creating communities has led her to develop The Early Years weekly “watercooler” professional development sessions.
Working together, we will seek answers and support one another in knowing there is no one-size-fits-all solution or magic wand to “make children behave”. And when we shift the question from “How do I get my child to _____ ?” to “How can I help my child make better decisions?” we are able to influence and empower them instead of control and manipulate them.

Ekaterina Popova

About Ekaterina
As I was carefully building my career in a pharmaceutical company, my intention was to go back to doing office work as soon as maternity leave was over. Then my daughter was born and it completely changed my life. As an overachiever I did my best, but very soon understood that parenting was so different from everything I’d learned before. The first challenge was sleep – four years ago Sleep Consultants were almost unknown here in Russia. Luckily, I came across Olga Dobrovolskaya, the first Family Sleep Institute graduate from Russia, who literally saved my family. This made such a huge impact on me and my family that when Olga was searching to add members to her team, I knew without a doubt that this was for me. It has now been three years since that decision was made and I have never looked back. This career has given me a completely new understanding of what I want to do in my life. I resigned from my office job and started a second university education as a Family Psychologist.
Working as a Child Sleep Consultant, I very often faced questions on behavioral issues. I myself also had more and more questions as my daughter grew up and I found myself with a passion for positive parenting. I just grabbed everything on the topic: books, online courses and seminars on child psychology. I saw that it all makes sense, but I still lacked some structure in my knowledge. The Early Years Child Behavior Certification Program gave me this structure.
I am so privileged to be among the first Child Behavior Specialists in Russia and to bring this priceless knowledge to parents. Positive parenting tools Sharyn taught us are simple and practical. They are already changing my life and I’m sure they will bring much more joy into the parenting journey of my clients.
I strongly believe that every family is special and my mission is to gently modify the usual perspective in everyday situations, so that your child feels successful and wants to do better – to see that happy glint in your eyes.
